One of the main contractors and engineering companies, Taisei’s headquarters are situated in Tokyo, supported by 14 regional branches covering the whole territory of Japan from Hokkaido to Kyushu.

Overseas, Taisei has branch offices or local subsidaries in Taipei, Phillppines (Manilla), Thailan (Bangkok ), Vietnam (Hanoi, Hochiminh City), Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, India (New Delhi), Pakistan (Islamabad),Middle East (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha), North Africa(Egypt), U.S.A (California) and Guam.

The Taisei Technology Center is based in Yokohama, which includes about 200 researchers and many research facilities such as Environmental Laboratory, Structural Testing Laboratory, Fire Laboratory, Earthquake Shaking Table, Wind tunnel, Wave Basin and so on. Ageing society, depopulation, and sustainability are key-issues are high on Taisei Technology Center’s agenda: Urban re-development, Smart Grid and smart city, heat island analysis and mitigation, are recent major research topics. Taisei Technology Center research is implemented globally through Taisei’s various international branches.

Taisei Technology Center has strong links with various Japanese top academic institutions including Tokyo University and Chiba University’s Graduate School of Engineering. Research conducted at Research collaboration between Chiba and Taisei Technology Center is primarily technology based, allowing Taisei Technology Center researchers to obtain PhD’s at Chiba University.

EU researchers will be enabled to conduct research at Taisei Technology Center to support their PhD or Post-Doc activities giving access to Taisei’s outstanding research facilities and know-how, simultaneously Taisei Technology Center research staff will have access to the EU-partners research facilities, data and networks.

Taisei Technology Center, originally mainly focusing on technological innovations, consultancy and technical support for a wide variety of Taisei projects, societal and environmental developments now make up a substantial part of research activities.

Ageing society, depopulation, and sustainability are key-issues within the existing Ausmip and AUSMIP+ programs, and are high on Taisei Technology Center’s agenda, resulting in multiple inclusive collaborations with academics, specifically Chiba University.

Under the AUSMIP+ collaboration, Taisei Technology Center will allow incoming researchers to conduct part of their research at the Taisei Technology Center laboratories, and send its own research staff to any of the program’s partners. Known for its painstaking R&D and focus on applied research, Taisei Technology Center envisions that the program can make a marked contribution in exchanging know-how and lead to innovative approaches. Such collaborations require a long-term strategy and implementation beyond the 48 months program duration.Taisei Corporation is Japan's one of the largest architecture, engineering and construction firm with a long history rich in tradition since 1873 and includes creating a large number of Japan's most prominent architectural and civil engineering landmarks.

In 1958 Taisei has also established technology research and development department, which is now called the Taisei Technology Center.

In recent years, global environmental concerns and social issues resulted in an ever-growing movement towards building a sustainable society. Being one of the major Japanese construction companies Taisei Technology Center is focused on the research in global environment and sustainable built environment collaborating with various external research and academic partners.
